Terms of service

These terms apply when you search for, buy or manage a domain name through SAIG Web Services. Please read them with our privacy policy and our cancellations and refunds page.

1. Who we are

SAIG Web Services is operated by Skylite Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 13535333), Office 64, Unit 5, 399–405 Oxford Street, London W1C 2BU. Contact us at support@skylite.group.

2. What we do, and the partners we use

We are a domain reseller, not a domain registry. When you buy a domain, we register it for you through an accredited registrar partner. Our current registrar partner is Cloudflare, Inc. We may add or change registrar partners; when a registration is placed with a partner, that partner's terms apply to it and we will tell you which partner holds your domain.

Every registration is also governed by the rules of the registry for its ending (for example Verisign for .com, or Nominet for .uk), and, for generic endings such as .com, by ICANN policy. By buying a domain you agree to:

• the registration agreement of the registrar partner holding your domain; for Cloudflare, its Domain Registration Agreement;
• the policies of the relevant registry; and
• ICANN's Registrant Benefits and Responsibilities and the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy, where they apply.

3. Prices

Our price is the registrar partner's cost for your domain plus a flat margin of US$1.00 per domain per year. We show both parts before you pay. Prices are in US dollars. Skylite Group Ltd is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added. The renewal price is the partner's renewal cost at the time of renewal plus the same US$1.00. Our margin does not change; if a registry changes its own price, the registry's part of your price changes with it, and we show you the new split before any renewal.

4. Payment

Payments are taken by SAIG Pay, the payments service of the SAIG group operated by Skylite Group Ltd. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

5. When we register, and your right to cancel

We start registering your domain as soon as your payment is confirmed, at your express request. Registration usually completes within seconds. If you are a consumer, you normally have 14 days to cancel a service contract, but because a domain registration is fully performed once it completes, you lose that right when registration completes. You confirm you understand this at checkout. If we cannot complete the registration, we refund you in full automatically. Details are on our cancellations and refunds page.

6. Ownership

You are the registrant of record for your domain: it is registered in your name, using the contact details you give us. We lock domains against unauthorised transfer. You may move your domain to another provider, subject to the registry's rules (for example, most endings do not allow a transfer within 60 days of registration), and we will provide what you need to do so.

7. Renewals

Auto-renew is switched on for every domain by default, so it does not lapse by accident. We will contact you before each renewal date with the renewal price. You can ask us to switch auto-renew off at any time before renewal. If a renewal is not paid, we may switch auto-renew off and let the domain expire at the end of its paid period.

8. Your responsibilities

• Give accurate contact details and keep them up to date. Registries and ICANN require this, and a domain can be suspended if details are false.
• Make sure your domain name and its use do not infringe anyone else's rights, including trade marks.
• Follow our acceptable use policy.

9. Suspension

We, our registrar partner or a registry may suspend, lock or cancel a domain where the law, a court or regulator, a dispute decision, a registry rule or our acceptable use policy requires it, or where a payment is reversed. We will tell you where we are allowed to.

10. Free extras

Free DNS hosting and HTTPS certificates are included while your domain is with us. They are provided on a reasonable-use basis and may change; we will tell you before removing a free feature you are using.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Otherwise, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for business losses (such as lost profit or revenue), or for delays or failures caused by registries, registrar partners or events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability to you for any domain is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes and law

We may update these terms; the version in force when you buy or renew applies to that purchase. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings where you live.
